The Moody Drama performed "Steel Magnolias" for their UIL One Act Play competition. The earned the title of Alternate Play. Junior, Nicholas Cruz, was honored as Outstanding Technician for his exceptional work as Stage Manager. Yasmin Salgado and Savannah Martinez received well-deserved recognition. For her role as "Ouiser", Yasmin placed in the All-Star Cast. For her portrayal of "Clairee", Freshman Savannah Martinez earned the prestigious Best Performer Award. This award given to only two students in the entire competition, reflects Savannah's exceptional talent and dedication. Congratulations!!!

Team 43448C The Cosmic Cowboys travelled to Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Helotes, TX to compete in the Texas Region 4 VEX Robotics Championship. Eight qualifying matches later, The Cosmic Cowboys made it to the Round of 16. They didn’t make it out of the round.
They did impress the 14+ judges with their play, their skills challenges, and their interview. The judges awarded the Judges Award for their spirit at the event, and their mention of wanting to leave a legacy in the coastal bend for other students to excel in robotics. Congratulations to Cosmic Cowboys, Mr. Stuart and Mr. Cavazos!

TAFE (Texas Assn of Future Educators) competed in the Teach Tomorrow Summit last week. Four teams represented Moody proudly. One team was able to score high enough to advance to Nationals and will attending the Educators Rising Conference in Washington D.C. in June. Congratulations to Jimmy Rodriguez and Trae Johnson for knocking it out of the park!

This past weekend, Trojan Anglers were slaying the drums and reds. Getting ready for the fish fry on Friday. Christian Estrada caught his PB on drum, 35" which was released. Nick Cruz pulled in a nice drum. Coach caught a big red that was released .
These guitar students received top scores this weekend at UIL Solo and Ensemble Guitar. They are headed to state! Congratulations!

Congratulations go out to sophomore Karina Gonzalez for her creative writing in poetry. Karina was awarded Honorable Mention Thursday night in the Robb Jackson High School Poetry contest at the People's Literacy Festival for her poem titled "She".
Karina was also asked to read her poem in front of a large crowd, and she did so in a way that represented Moody High School with honor. #MoodyProud 💙💛
