About the Culinary Arts Academy

The Culinary Arts Academy is one of the exciting Corpus Christi Independent School District’s programs housed in Foy H. Moody High School. The Culinary Arts Program is open only to students in the Moody attendance zone.

The purpose of this program is to provide students with an education and necessary tools to succeed in a post-secondary educational experience in the food services and hospitality industries. The program also allows students to begin earning articulated college credits in high school. Students in the program would gain practicum experiences to the planning, directing or coordinating activities in the with various food and beverage production industries. Students will have the opportunity to earn their ServSafe Manager Certificate.

Culinary arts students participate in local, regional and state-level competitions as they develop culinary skills. Students are on an academic curriculum path to earn a Public Service graduation endorsement in the Hospitality and Tourism cluster.

Admission in the Culinary Arts Academy is strictly by application. Students can only be admitted in the program in Grade 9.
